Privacy Policy

Swerve Strategic Marketing (legal name Swerve Public Relations Inc.) runs this website. We are at 1005 Skyview Drive, Unit 104, Burlington, Ontario, L7P 5B1, Canada. You can reach us at 416-593-5628 or connect@swervestrategic.com.

This policy explains what we collect when you use swervestrategic.com, why we collect it, who sees it and what you can do about it. It applies to this website only. The work we do for clients is covered by our agreements with them.

Effective date: October 11, 2026.

What we collect

What you give us. When you fill out the contact form, we ask for your name, email, phone number, company, the category your brand sells in and a short note about what you are launching. When you email us or call, we keep what you send. If you apply for a role by email, we keep the résumé and cover letter you send us for the hiring process.

We don’t run comments on this site, and we don’t ask you to create an account.

What our tools collect on their own. This site, like most agency sites, runs a few services that set cookies or read your browser so we can see how it’s used:

  • Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, tells us which pages people visit, how they got here and roughly where they are. We don’t see who you are.
  • The LinkedIn Insight Tag tells us when someone who saw our LinkedIn ads later visits the site, so we can measure those ads.
  • Google reCAPTCHA protects the contact form from bots. Google’s privacy policy covers what it collects.
  • One small cookie of our own, called swv_ft, remembers where you came from (for example, a search engine or LinkedIn) and the first page you landed on, for 90 days. It holds no personal information. We use it to see which channels bring us the right kind of brand.
  • Videos on the site come from YouTube, and the fonts come from Google Fonts. Both load from Google’s servers, which means Google sees your browser request.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.

Why we collect it

We use what you give us to answer you, to decide whether we are a fit for your brand and, if we work together, to run the engagement. We use the analytics and advertising data to see what people read, to measure whether our LinkedIn ads bring the right visitors and to improve the site. We don’t send newsletters or bulk promotional email. If we email you, it’s a person writing to you about your inquiry.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with other brands or agencies.

Who sees it

Inside Swerve, the people who handle new business and the account team on your brand. Outside Swerve, only the providers named above (Google, LinkedIn and our hosting company), and only so they can do their job for us. Some of them store data in the United States. We will also share information if the law requires it, for example in response to a court order.

How long we keep it

Contact form entries stay in our website and our email inbox for 24 months after your last contact with us, then we delete them. Analytics data in Google Analytics is kept for 14 months. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider. If we work together, we keep the records our contract and tax rules require.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and the site still works. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on and out of LinkedIn’s ad measurement in your LinkedIn settings. If you’d rather not use the form, call or email us instead.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Write to connect@swervestrategic.com and we’ll answer within 30 days.

Your rights

We are based in Ontario and follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you’re in the United States, state privacy laws such as California’s may give you additional rights, including the right to know what we hold and to ask for deletion. We honour those requests from anyone who asks, wherever you are.

If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Our privacy officer is Andrew Wagar, President and CEO. Questions about this policy go to him at connect@swervestrategic.com.

Children

This site is for brands and the people who market them. It isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections and limited access to our systems, and we choose providers who do the same. No website can promise perfect security. If a breach affects you, we’ll tell you.

Changes

When we change this policy we’ll post the new version here with a new date. If a change affects how we use information you’ve already given us, we’ll email you first.
